Facebook, Instagram, and the Messenger app were hit by a sudden technical failure on Thursday evening, hitting different parts of the world.
Despite the extent of the problem, it did not affect all users, and while some said that the site “Facebook” or its application does not work, others stressed that they work normally, according to our correspondent.
WhatsApp, owned by Facebook, remained to function, as usual, the paper said. The Facebook page on Twitter has yet to comment.
Messenger messages, meanwhile, simply sit indefinitely in a not-quite-sent state, therefore if you’re using messenger to work out who’s bringing what to Thanksgiving dinner, you would possibly need to change platforms for a bit.
An abrupt influx of Down Detector user reports suggests that the outage started at roughly 6 AM Pacific.
