Good news for anyone tired of long lines and paperwork—NADRA has launched a new mobile app that lets you register key documents like birth certificate, death certificate, and marriage certificate hassle free without stepping out of your home, using Pak Identity.
The initiative was revealed during a recent government meeting focused on improving national registration systems. Representatives from various ministries and departments were present to discuss how technology can make public services more accessible.
NADRA’s Chairman, Lt Gen (Retd) Muhammad Munir Afsar, explained that the new app is part of a broader push to digitize and simplify processes that usually require in-person visits. The app is expected to launch first in Punjab, with plans to expand further after that.
To make things easier on the ground, biometric verification services are also being rolled out at local union council offices. Officials from the Local Government Department even got a live demo of the app to see how it works in real-time.
In Islamabad, NADRA is also setting up one-window counters at union councils, aiming to reduce red tape and make things faster for everyone.
On a related note, the PTA chairman shared updates on a new national biometric policy that could pave the way for a more secure and streamlined digital ID system across the country.
