TikTok has taken down nearly 25 million videos from Pakistan in the first three months of 2025, according to the platform’s Q1 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report. The removals, which occurred between January and March, reflect the company’s ongoing efforts to maintain a safer digital space for its users.

The report shows that 24,954,128 videos originating from Pakistan were removed for violating TikTok’s community guidelines. The country continues to show one of the highest proactive moderation rates, with 99.4% of violating content removed before users could report it. Even more impressive — 95.8% of those videos were taken down within 24 hours of being posted.

On a global scale, TikTok removed around 211 million videos during the same period, representing 0.9% of all content uploaded to the platform. The vast majority — over 184 million — were identified and removed through automated moderation systems.

Interestingly, more than 7.5 million videos that were initially removed were later restored after secondary reviews, suggesting TikTok’s review process includes space for appeals and human oversight.

The report breaks down the most common reasons for content removal worldwide. Topping the list were videos flagged for sensitive or mature themes — making up 30.1% of all takedowns.

Other common violations included:

  • Misinformation: 45.5%

  • Privacy & Security violations: 15.6%

  • Safety and Civility issues: 11.5%

  • Use of edited media or AI-generated content: 13.8%

These stats reveal TikTok’s growing focus on tackling false or misleading information, alongside efforts to address digitally altered content that may violate community trust or policy standards.

TikTok emphasized that its quarterly enforcement reports are part of a broader push toward transparency and accountability. The platform says the reports are meant to help users, regulators, and researchers better understand how content moderation works at such massive scale.

The full Q1 2025 report is now available on TikTok’s official Transparency Centre, accessible in both Urdu and English. It offers users a closer look at TikTok’s policies, tools for reporting content, and overall enforcement strategy.
