The government has announced the closure of all educational institutions for one month from November 26 in view of increasing cases of the Corona epidemic.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Federal Minister Shafqat Mahmood said that in view of increasing cases of Corona epidemic, it has been decided to close all educational institutions from November 26.

Online education will continue in educational institutions from November 26 to December 24. There will be winter holidays from December 25 to January 10. There will be a review in the first week of January after which all educational institutions will reopen on January 11.

Shafqat Mehmood said that in educational institutions where education is conducted online, teachers will provide homework whereas this facility is not available. According to Shafqat Mahmood, it has been recommended to conduct board examinations in Komai in March and April. One-third of the students of university hostels will be able to stay in hostels.

Shafqat Mehmood said that the school administration will decide on the recruitment of teachers. The proposal to move the new academic year to August is under consideration. The situation regarding Corona will be reviewed.

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has already recommended the immediate closure of educational institutions.

Earlier, an important meeting of education ministers was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Shafqat Mehmood in which provincial education ministers and other concerned officials participated via video link. The proposal for early winter and more than usual holidays was discussed.

The Federal Ministry of Education had sent proposals to the provinces for educational institutions on the rise of Corona cases, according to which the first proposal is to close educational institutions from November 24 to January 31, the second proposal is to close primary schools from November Has been said.
