HMD has now formally revealed when to be excited about the Android Pie update for Nokia 1, 2.1, 3.1, 5.1, 5, 6 and 3.1 Plus. Nokia 2 spoiling the surprise here and HMD will perhaps skip Nokia 2 from Android Pie roll-out.
A little slow but HMD Global has been rolling out Android 9 Pie to its Nokia-branded phones. The Nokia 7 Plus, 6.1, 6.1 Plus, 5.1, 5.1 Plus, 8, and 8 Sirocco was lucky to have received Pie by now. If your Nokia device still doesn’t have Pie update, don’t be upset, HMD has set out its update timeline for all remaining phones.
Juho tweeted that HMD was the fastest in updating complete portfolio to Android Oreo and Oreo 8.1 and they plan to be faster in the case of Pie.
As Android One smartphones Nokia 3.1, 5.1 and 3.1 Plus are yet to get Android Pie comes as a surprise. According to the Android Pie roadmap unveiled by HMD, all these smartphones are marked to get Android Pie in Q1 2019 while Nokia 3.1 Plus was lined up to get in January 2019.
As announced earlier Nokia 5 and 3.1 Plus will get Android Pie this week. This has been confirmed by Juho in another tweet. Followed by that tweet Juho has also revealed that Nokia 6 will be the next and get the update as soon as the Dolby implementation is complete.
